About the Role
The DevOps Engineer will play a vital role in optimizing the company’s cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, performance, and security of production systems. This position focuses on AWS, including the administration of EKS clusters, managing CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring high availability for applications. The role offers an opportunity to work closely with development teams and contribute to both operational and security aspects of cloud-based services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure production instances for new customers.
- Monitor AWS resource utilization and optimize system performance.
- Participate in out-of-hours support to resolve issues and restore client-facing services.
- Conduct service restore tests to verify data protection and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Contribute technical expertise to DevOps projects and assist with planning and execution.
- Assist in the architecture of infrastructures, focusing on cloud security and dependency management best practices.
- Develop scalable solutions and optimize costs for long-term efficiency.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent field with 6+ years of experience.
- Proficient with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Git, SVN, Jenkins, Code Deploy.
- Strong experience with AWS EKS or K8S clusters, including HPA, Certificate Manager, DNS, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS EC2 (On-Demand, Spot Market, Reserved Instances) and VPC.
- Familiarity with message brokering systems like RabbitMQ, Apache MQ, and caching systems like Redis, Memcached.
- Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux systems and AWS services (S3, CloudWatch, CloudFormation).
- Expertise in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, and JavaScript.
- Experience working with modern programming languages like C#, C++, Java, and Serverless Functions (AWS Lambda).
- Familiarity with security compliance standards like FEDRAMP, NIST, and CMMC.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS/K8S Certification is a plus, but not required.
- Experience with PostgreSQL in high-availability, clustered database environments.
