About the Role

The DevOps Support Specialist will work in KPMG’s Managed Services practice, collaborating with various teams to design, implement, and optimize automated workflows. This role will focus on maintaining high availability and reliability of the cloud infrastructure while ensuring smooth deployment and operational support. As part of the team, the DevOps Support Specialist will contribute to continuous improvement efforts and collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver high-quality services.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration and Requirement Analysis: Participate in standup calls with teams to understand requirements and plan deployment activities.
  • Cloud Environment Management: Set up and automate cloud environments according to runbooks, assisting with application deployments and monitoring.
  • Incident Management: Provide operational support and incident resolution, adhering to SLA guidelines and reviewing support documentation.
  • Process Improvement: Introduce new technologies and processes to improve existing support activities, ensuring smoother operations.
  • CI/CD Automation: Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and manage cloud infrastructure using automation tools.
  • Mentorship: Provide coaching to junior team members, fostering quality deliverables and promoting best practices across the team.
  • Documentation: Create and update operational runbooks and support knowledge base articles.
  • Agile Practices: Participate in Agile ceremonies, ensuring alignment with project goals and sprint commitments.

Required Skills

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in a DevOps support role within Managed Services or a similar environment.
  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and automation tools (Ansible, Python).
  • Scripting: Proficiency in shell scripting and a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure management.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with teams and clients.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactive mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve incidents in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Strong teamwork skills and ability to work independently when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: Azure Foundations, Azure Administrator, ITIL certifications.
  • Cloud Technologies: Experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Additional Knowledge: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
