About the Role
Verana Health is seeking a DevOps Engineer to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of the cloud infrastructure. This remote role will require the candidate to collaborate with engineering, data science, and IT teams to deliver data-driven solutions that directly impact healthcare professionals and researchers. The position plays a critical role in supporting Verana Health’s cloud operations, enabling faster, safer, and more reliable delivery of valuable healthcare insights.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure Management: Architect, deploy, and maintain AWS-based infrastructure with a focus on automation, security, and scalability.
- CI/CD Pipeline Development: Build and optimize continuous integration and deployment pipelines to improve operational efficiency and accelerate software delivery.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, data science, and QA teams to support DevOps needs and drive continuous improvement.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce best practices for authorization, authentication, and compliance across AWS services.
- System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability of critical applications and databases.
- Documentation and Process Refinement: Document and improve DevOps processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational excellence.
- Database and Server Management: Manage databases and server administration (Linux/Windows) using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Innovation and Growth: Contribute to a culture of learning, growth, and innovation within the technology team.
Required Skills
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or software development.
- Cloud Expertise: In-depth knowledge of AWS services (IAM, VPC, EC2, S3) and cloud security best practices.
- CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python) and using version control systems (GitLab, GitHub).
- Server Administration: Experience with Linux and Windows server administration and database management.
- Infrastructure as Code: Expertise in infrastructure automation using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare Experience: Exposure to healthcare or clinical research environments is a plus.
- Mentorship: Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members.
- Continuous Learning: A passion for continuous learning and improving processes.
