About the Role

Foundation Source is looking for a detail-oriented and methodical DevOps Engineer to help modernize, secure, and scale its technology infrastructure. The role requires hands-on collaboration with experienced technical teams to implement automation, enhance system observability, and ensure high availability and reliability across the platform. Responsibilities

  • Maintain & Enhance Existing Infrastructure and SDLC Processes: Support the software delivery lifecycle, ensuring deployment reliability and consistency. Optimize and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI.
  • Modernize and Streamline Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Work closely with developers to enable scalable microservices architectures with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Contribute to the Design of New Infrastructure: Collaborate with product and development teams to develop new systems efficiently, ensuring they are secure, maintainable, and well-designed.
  • Maintain Security and Compliance: Implement security controls including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, IAM policies, and infrastructure hardening. Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with standards such as SOC 2 and NIST.
  • Performance and Troubleshooting: Monitor infrastructure and application performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide system updates and patches to ensure system health and security.

Required Skills

  • Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: In-depth knowledge of AWS, including IAM, EC2, S3, VPC, and cloud security best practices.
  • DevOps & CI/CD Tools: Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and Terraform for managing infrastructure.
  • Scripting & Automation: Experience with Python, Bash, or Go for scripting and automating tasks.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Expertise with Docker and Kubernetes for managing cloud-native applications.
  • Linux & Windows Administration: Strong background in Linux system administration with experience managing databases.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Familiarity with tools like Datadog, Splunk, or ELK Stack to monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud Platforms Knowledge: Familiarity with Azure and GCP in addition to AWS.
  • Security & Compliance: Experience with DevSecOps practices and tools for ensuring security across cloud environments.
  • Infrastructure & Process Optimization: Knowledge of ITIL, Agile methodologies, and tools for continuous improvement.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Experience mentoring junior team members and sharing knowledge within a collaborative team.
  • Experience with Machine Learning/Databricks: Familiarity with deploying and supporting machine learning models in production environments is a plus.
