About the Role
SWBC is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join the team and support cloud software deployments. The role is integral to ensuring smooth, automated deployments across the AWS cloud infrastructure and private cloud systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a team of professionals in the financial services sector, leveraging modern technologies to streamline and enhance processes.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automation tools and infrastructure for cloud software deployments using DevOps principles.
- Develop and manage scripts, tools, and systems for automating software releases, focusing on efficiency and scalability.
- Use scripting languages like Python, BASH, or PowerShell to build automated processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize release processes and maintain continuous integration pipelines.
- Automate deployment of releases to higher environments (DEV, QA, Prod) through automation tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development and cloud deployments.
- Document and report work status, challenges, and improvements for management review.
- Maintain security standards and best practices throughout all deployment processes.
- Actively participate in Agile sprints, ensuring all technical aspects of deployment are addressed.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing AWS resources and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS SysOps Administrator Associate certification required.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification is required.
- Experience with Blue/Green, Canary, or other zero downtime deployment strategies.
- Proficiency in Node.JS or .NET Core (C#) development.
- Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong experience with AWS services including VPC, EC2, Route53, IAM, Lambda, and others.
- Knowledge of Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Proficient in Linux and Windows system administration in cloud environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure or Google Cloud platforms.
- Exposure to microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases like Cassandra, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
- Knowledge of RDBMS such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Aurora.
- Experience with AWS cloud-based tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Travis CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Understanding of secure SDLC, OWASP, and CWE/SANS top 25.
