Overview
Our client, a well-established software development company, is seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to join their team on a 12-month contract. This is a hybrid role, primarily remote, with occasional onsite collaboration in Canary Wharf, London. The successful candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining cloud infrastructure, ensuring platform security, and supporting governance processes within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud platforms in Microsoft Azure
- Manage, configure, and optimize Linux-based virtual machines (VMs)
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Bicep
- Embed robust security practices into all aspects of the platform
- Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation to support ongoing operations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with client governance frameworks
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across DevOps processes and tooling
Required Experience
- Proven track record in Azure cloud engineering and DevOps practices
- Strong background in Linux VM administration and automation
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for IaC development and deployment
- Familiarity with embedding security controls within cloud environments
- Ability to produce high-quality documentation and support governance standards
Technical Skills
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Bicep
- Containerisation: Kubernetes, Docker
- CI/CD Pipelines: GitLab CI, Jenkins
- Scripting & Automation: Python, PowerShell
