About the Role
The DevOps Engineer will play a key role in building and maintaining the infrastructure for Standard Fleet’s growing platform. As an early hire, this position focuses on designing scalable systems, implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, and ensuring high availability. The role provides an opportunity to establish DevOps best practices and directly impact the adoption of electric vehicles across thousands of businesses.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on GCP to support the fleet management platform.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for reliable and rapid deployment of microservices.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure system performance and reliability.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance developer productivity through automation and tooling.
- Lead incident response processes, conduct post-mortems, and implement improvements to maintain reliability.
- Establish security best practices and ensure compliance across cloud infrastructure.
- Optimize cost and resource utilization while maintaining 24/7 availability for fleet operations.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, including GKE, Spanner, BigTable, Pub/Sub).
- Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub CI, Argo CD).
- Proficiency in Go, Python, MySQL, Redis, and modern frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript).
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code principles and automation tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with distributed engineering teams and drive projects to completion.
- Passion for electric vehicles and innovative transportation solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience scaling microservices architectures and distributed systems.
- Expertise in monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.
- Understanding of cloud security and compliance requirements.
- Track record of improving developer productivity through automation and tooling.
