About the Role

The DevOps Engineer will play a key role in building and maintaining the infrastructure for Standard Fleet’s growing platform. As an early hire, this position focuses on designing scalable systems, implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, and ensuring high availability. The role provides an opportunity to establish DevOps best practices and directly impact the adoption of electric vehicles across thousands of businesses.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on GCP to support the fleet management platform.
Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for reliable and rapid deployment of microservices.
Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure system performance and reliability.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance developer productivity through automation and tooling.
Lead incident response processes, conduct post-mortems, and implement improvements to maintain reliability.
Establish security best practices and ensure compliance across cloud infrastructure.
Optimize cost and resource utilization while maintaining 24/7 availability for fleet operations.

Required Skills

Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, including GKE, Spanner, BigTable, Pub/Sub).
Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub CI, Argo CD).
Proficiency in Go, Python, MySQL, Redis, and modern frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript).
Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code principles and automation tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to collaborate with distributed engineering teams and drive projects to completion.
Passion for electric vehicles and innovative transportation solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience scaling microservices architectures and distributed systems.
Expertise in monitoring, alerting, and observability tools.
Understanding of cloud security and compliance requirements.
Track record of improving developer productivity through automation and tooling.
