About the Role
As an Infrastructure Engineer at Vultron, you will play a key role in building the infrastructure that supports AI platforms, ensuring scalability, security, and compliance across diverse environments. This position involves designing, building, and operating cloud and on-premise systems to support AI workflows and meet government regulations. You will be working with open-source infrastructure and have the opportunity to lead the way in AI-driven government initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain the foundational infrastructure behind AI platforms.
- Build and manage scalable cloud and on-premise systems that support AI workflows.
- Ensure systems meet compliance requirements, enabling rapid iteration and deployment.
- Self-host open-source infrastructure including tools like Postgres, Prometheus/Grafana, and object storage.
- Implement and manage observability pipelines for monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to integrate infrastructure solutions with AI platforms.
- Manage sensitive data and ensure secure, compliant handling in line with government contracting regulations.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and document complex infrastructure systems.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles.
- Expertise in using Terraform to manage cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure).
- Strong experience in self-hosting open-source infrastructure like Postgres, Prometheus/Grafana, and object storage (e.g., SeaweedFS).
- Proficient in Bash and Python scripting for system automation and management.
- Deep understanding of system-level security, networking, and backup strategies.
- Proven leadership and collaboration in software development.
- Ability to work in highly regulated environments with compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying open-source AI tools (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers, FAISS).
- Familiarity with GPU-based systems, model serving, and low-latency inference workloads.
- Experience with FedRAMP, SOC 2, or NIST 800-171 compliance.
- Knowledge of audit preparation and evidence collection for regulated environments.
- Ability to operate in air-gapped or hybrid network environments.
- Experience in defense tech or high-stakes enterprise markets.
- Eligibility for U.S. Government security clearance.
