About the Role

Join the Blood Management and Human & Social Services (HSS) Engineering team at WellSky’s World Headquarters in Overland Park, KS, as a Software Engineer – DevOps. This role offers the opportunity to develop and optimize impactful software solutions across various stages of the software development lifecycle, focusing on enhancing end-user efficiency and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain features and components of WellSky solutions, ensuring code quality, performance, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with solution managers, designers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-impact features aligned with business goals.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues in production and development environments.
  • Optimize system performance and scalability through troubleshooting and continuous improvements.
  • Prepare technical documentation and participate in code reviews to ensure compliance with internal standards and industry best practices.
  • Perform performance testing, including integration, load, and performance tests.
  • Develop automation scripts and workflows for deployment, configuration, and monitoring using tools like PowerShell, Bash, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Utilize GenAI tools for AI-assisted development and basic prompt engineering.
  • Attend at least 80% of team rituals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft technologies, including Azure and PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration tools (Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like New Relic, Azure Monitor, and Site24x7.
  • Experience with source control systems like GitHub.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications such as Azure Developer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services.
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with microservices architectures.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices.
  • Experience supporting Redis in a production environment.
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum teams.
  • Familiarity with documentation tools like Confluence, Miro, and SharePoint.
