About the Role
The Sr. DevOps Administrator will play a key role in managing and maintaining the company’s cloud infrastructure, primarily hosted on Azure. This position focuses on ensuring scalable, secure, and resilient systems while enhancing development workflows with CI/CD automation. As a primarily remote position, this role offers flexibility while requiring collaboration with various IT and business units to support ongoing infrastructure and application needs.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure on Azure using Terraform.
- CI/CD Automation: Develop and maintain continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the deployment process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth integration and application delivery.
- Monitoring & Optimization: Monitor system performance, reliability, and security, making adjustments to enhance efficiency.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve infrastructure-related issues efficiently, minimizing downtime and maintaining system health.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage IaC practices to ensure system consistency and repeatability.
- Autonomous Problem Solving: Work independently on complex projects and make architectural decisions without escalation.
Required Skills
- Experience: 5+ years in IT infrastructure, with 3+ years focused on Azure cloud services and Terraform.
- Automation Knowledge: Proficient in automation of infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Cloud Services: Deep experience managing cloud infrastructure, particularly Azure (including Azure Kubernetes Service, and related services).
- CI/CD Tools: Familiarity with GitHub Actions and other CI/CD pipeline tools.
- Scripting Skills: Strong knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Containerization: Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex issues independently.
- Collaboration: Strong communication skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Database Experience: Familiarity with MongoDB, SQL Server, and HDInsight.
- Container Orchestration: Experience with Kubernetes and container management.
- Configuration Management: Knowledge of tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Cloud Infrastructure Certifications: Relevant certifications in Azure or cloud technologies are a plus.
